An access control system (PACS) using facial recognition devices (FRDs) and video surveillance solves several key problems, including:
- Security. Ensuring protection of facilities, prevention of unauthorized access and monitoring of the territory.
- Access control. Access control to various zones, including registration of entry and exit of employees and visitors.
- Real-time monitoring. Video surveillance allows to monitor events at the facility in real time, which helps to promptly respond to incidents.
- Recording and archiving data. CCTV systems can record video for further analysis and storage, which is useful for incident investigation.
- Interaction with Fire Alarm systems. Connection to security, fire alarm systems.
- Notifications and alerts. Automatically notify security guards or responsible persons of suspicious activities or events.
- Vehicle access control. Automatic license plate recognition allows to control access to protected areas such as parking lots, residential complexes or industrial facilities. The system can automatically open gates for registered vehicles.
Proposed EVI security system network

Main system components
- EVI-CORE — service with EVI core business logic;
- EVI-SCUD — service that provides operation with IPA-ER-020 controllers;
- EVI-PERIMETER — service responsible for receiving video from cameras from other sources (Onvif/RTSP). It allows to transfer the received streams for further processing to other modules;
- EVI-ANALYZER — service that provides motion detection in the frame for subsequent video recording;
- EVI-ARCHIVE — service responsible for recording camera streams by event from EVI-ANALYZER or permanently. Records and extracts video analytics metadata for further sending to clients (application, web interface, etc.);
- EVI-ANALYTICS — video stream analysis service from EVI-PERIMETER based on the analytics model. The obtained information from EVI-ANALYTICS can be recorded to the media and displayed in the web interface application;
- EVI-WEB — web-interface that provides users with convenient access to the EVI platform's configuration and control functions.
Advantages of the solution
1. High level of security. The use of facial recognition and video surveillance technologies allows to significantly increase the level of security of facilities, minimizing the risk of unauthorized access. The system automatically identifies people, which eliminates the possibility of unauthorized access.
2. Real-time monitoring. The ability to monitor events at the facility in real time enables to respond quickly to incidents. This is especially important for security services that can quickly take action in the event of a threat.
3. Vehicle access control. Automatic license plate recognition simplifies access control for vehicles.
4. Resource savings. Reduced security and access control costs result in significant resource savings in the long term. These advantages make this configuration of the access control system an effective tool for ensuring security and optimizing processes at protected facilities.
