Glossary

EVI Platform — set of software designed to organize a unified system for managing, configuring, and monitoring devices;

evi-core — core of the EVI platform management system;

evi-core-web — web interface for managing the EVI platform;

evi-scud — PACS module for the EVI platform;

evi-perimeter — a combination of video surveillance modules (evi-live, evi-archive, evi-analyzer) designed to receive video streams from cameras and save them to an archive;

evi-live — module for interacting with video surveillance cameras for the EVI Platform;

evi-archive — module for recording archives from cameras for the EVI Platform;

evi-analyzer — motion detector module for the EVI Platform;

evi-video-client — automated workstation for working with the EVI Platform video surveillance service on Linux or Windows;

evi-web-proxy — application designed for viewing the h.265 codec on Linux via a web interface;

PACS — access control and management system. This is a set of technical equipment and software designed to control the access of people and vehicles to secure facilities or specific areas;

TMS —  time management system. A system that allows to track and record the time spent by employees on performing their duties. The main purpose of TMS is to ensure transparency and efficiency of labor cost management, as well as compliance with labor legislation;

PACS controller  — device that controls access to various objects or areas in a building, ensuring security and control over the movement of people. PACS is used in various institutions, such as offices, industrial enterprises, government organizations, and other facilities;

Pass —  card issued to employees or guests as part of the access control system;

View —  set of cameras distributed in an arbitrarily chosen grid;

Monitoring —  page for monitoring and editing views;

Passage point  —  organized place of passage through a turnstile, door, gate, or barrier;

Turnstile — device designed to restrict the passage of people when it is necessary to check the right of entry and exit for each person passing through;

PACS reader — device that reads information from code carriers (cards, fingerprints, electronic key fobs) for subsequent data transfer to the controller;

Wiegand — wired communication interface between an ID reader (card) and a controller, widely used in access control systems (PACS). It is designed to transmit identification results from the PACS reader to the controller;

RS-485 — physical layer communication standard. It enables data exchange between multiple devices over a single two-wire communication line in half-duplex mode;

Fire Alarm — interface that enables direct communication between fire alarms and other systems or devices installed in a building. The interface optimizes the functionality of the overall fire protection strategy by synchronizing all individual fire safety tools into a coordinated fire response protocol;

Container — isolated space within an operating system where an application is run along with all the necessary files, libraries, and settings.
