Windows Server version 2022 or later is required to install and launch vESR.
1) Start the Hyper-V Manager. To create a virtual machine, click the "Connect to Server" button in the opened window:
2) Select the connection to the virtualization server from the local computer. Click "OK".
3) Click the "Create" button. Select "Virtual Machine".
4) In the opened window, click "Next":
5) Specify "vESR" as the name of the virtual machine. Click "Next".
6) Specify "Generation 1". Click "Next".
7) Specify the amount of RAM at least 3 GB (4 GB is optional). Click "Next".
8) Click "Next":
9) Specify the storage size at least 500 MB (2 GB is optional). Click "Next".
10) Specify "Install an operating system from a bootable CD/DVD rom". Select "Image file (.iso)" and specify the installer image. Click "Finish".
11) Select the created virtual machine, click with the right mouse button. Click "Connect".
12) In the opened window, click the "Start" button:
The next vESR installation steps are detailed in the vESR installation process section.
The following steps must be performed for the created virtual machine:
1) Click the virtual machine with the right mouse button and select "Settings".
2) In the opened window, select the "Hardware setup" section. Select "Network adapter". Click the "Add" button.
3) Click "OK" to add the network adapter.
4) In the Hyper-V Manager window, click the "Virtual Switch Manager" button.
5) In the opened window, click "Create Virtual Switch". Select the "External" type. Click the "Create Virtual Switch" button.
6) Specify the name of the virtual switch. Click "OK".
7) In the opened window, click "Yes" and wait for the network adapter to be reconfigured.
8) In the Hyper-V Manager, click the virtual machine with the right mouse button and go to "Settings".
9) In the settings, select the network adapter:
