In the modern world, every large company faces the need to organize reliable and efficient network infrastructure. One of the key elements of such infrastructure is an organized Wi-Fi network that ensure data transfer and stable connection between various devices.

Terms, Abbreviations and Standards

AP — Enterprise access points produced by Eltex.

Interference — a process in which signals from different sources overlap, causing distortion and degradation of the radio signal.

SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) — an indicator that reflects the ratio of signal to noise level.

Band steering — a mode in which the access point denies connection over the 2.4 GHz band if the device supports 5 GHz.

SSID (Service Set Identifier) — the identifier (name) of a Wi-Fi network. It can be hidden, meaning the broadcasting network will not announce its name over the air. In this case, the client device must be manually configured to connect.

Local switching — a mode for Eltex access points, which allows implementing client release locally at the access point connection point without using GRE tunneling. Tunnel or local switching mode can be selected individually for each SSID.

Central switching — a mode in which all client traffic is forwarded through the controller.

Airtune — a service designed to optimize access point parameters (TPC/DCA) based on current conditions, as well as to ensure the operation of seamless roaming (support for 802.11k/r/v standards).
